Firestarter: The Story of Bangarra
Firestarter marks Bangarra Dance Theatre’s 30th anniversary. Taking us through Bangarra’s birth and spectacular growth, the film recognises Bangarra’s founders and tells the story of how three young Aboriginal brothers — Stephen, David and Russell Page — turned the newly born dance group into a First Nations cultural powerhouse.

Mary Two-Axe Earley
The powerful story of Mary Two-Axe Earley, who fought for more than two decades to challenge sex discrimination against First Nations women embedded in Canada’s Indian Act and became a key figure in Canada’s women’s rights movement.

"Without a Whisper" is the untold story of how Indigenous women influenced the early suffragists in their fight for freedom and equality.

Where are the films available?
All films are accessible through ReFrame Film Festival’s Virtual Theatre for the Elders Gathering on the Eventive website: https://watch.eventive.org/eldersgathering22
You can screen the films directly from your laptop/desktop or mobile phone.

How do I order tickets?
Order films by clicking on the “Pre-order now for free” button in the middle of the page and entering your email address. If you already have an Eventive account, it will then ask for your password. If you are new to Eventive, it will ask for your full name and a password to set up a free account to watch these films.

How do I access the films?
You will receive an email with instructions to access the films after ‘purchasing free tickets’ to a screening, as well as a reminder email with a link when the screening becomes available.

How long will the films be available to watch?
After the screening becomes available on February 11th at 7:00 pm, you will receive an email reminder can begin watching. Once you click “Watch now,” you will have unlimited access for 3 days.
